TabVault privacy policy
TabVault is a Chrome extension that saves your browser tabs into groups so you can close them and reopen them later. This policy explains what information TabVault handles and what it does with it.
What TabVault stores
When you choose to save a tab, TabVault stores the tab's web address (URL) and page title, the name of the group you save it to, and the date and time it was saved.
If you turn on the optional "Keep history of closed tabs" setting, TabVault also stores the address, title and closing time of tabs you close. This setting is off by default.
TabVault also stores your settings, such as whether tabs close after saving.
Where it is stored
All of this information is stored only on your own computer, inside your Chrome browser's local extension storage.
TabVault has no servers and no accounts. It does not send your saved tabs, browsing activity or any other information to the developer or to anyone else.
What TabVault does not do
TabVault does not collect personal information such as your name, email address or location. It does not track you, and it contains no analytics or advertising. It does not sell, share or transfer your data to third parties. It does not use your data for any purpose other than saving and restoring your tabs.
Site icons
To show each saved site's small icon, TabVault uses Chrome's built-in favicon feature, which reads icons from Chrome's own cache on your computer.
Your control over your data
- You can remove any saved tab or group, or clear your closed-tab history, at any time from the TabVault menu.
- Export creates a backup file that is saved only where you choose.
- Uninstalling TabVault permanently deletes all of its stored data from your browser.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
